Light House Studio held its 24th annual Youth Film Festival on Sunday night at the Paramount Theater, showcasing young talent from across the community.

The event featured a wide selection of films made by students ranging from third grade to early college.

Animations, documentaries and experimental films were highlighted, showing the creativity of the young filmmakers.

“Our focus at Light House is all about storytelling. Filmmaking is the medium that we choose for that, but we think it's a very powerful tool to give young people that they're able to tell their own stories,” said Zack Marotta, the education director at Light House Studio.

Out of more than 400 films produced at the studio, only a select few were screened at the festival. Marotta said the night celebrated the children’s ability to create and not just consume.
