On Sunday, September 7, you have an opportunity to watch films made right here in the Charlottesville community, though the people behind the camera are a bit younger than you might expect.
Light House Studio is hosting its annual Youth Film Festival at 5 p.m. at the Paramount Theater Sunday, featuring short films made by students. Deanna Gould, the Executive Director of Light House, says genres range from animation, to comedy, to more serious documentaries.
No matter which genre they choose, Gould says, it’s always a treat to watch both the films and the filmmakers.
“One of my favorite things is watching the young people, [the] filmmakers, when their films are up on screen,” Gould said. “I would say, if you can join us, take a look around, because you’ll see how important this is to them.”
Light House says the festival is the perfect way for the community to come together and celebrate the effort that these young filmmakers have put into their final products.
