Light House partners
with schools
We are dedicated to giving award-winning workshops
to Charlottesville classrooms
Let’s give all students the power of storytelling skills!
Why partner?
Project-based learning is at the core of what we do! We guide students on how to mix their school subjects with collaborative filmmaking. Expand your student’s mind with new tools so they can learn new perspectives about the world they live in.
Students learn skills for life at Light House! The profile of a High School graduate is success in critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and citizenship skills. Let’s give Charlottesville students the tools they need to feel confident in all that they do.
Project-Based Learning
Through our hands-on projects, students are enriched by the fun, versatile activity of filmmaking. We empower young people to transform from passive consumers to active media creators. Learn more about the impact of our project-based learning here!

Expand Your Perspective
While using storytelling tools, students have to think outside the box on how to mix their education with the art of filmmaking. You get to see how well they’ve retained their education through their films!
Take a look at what Albemarle High School’s ESOL Class created in their Spring 2023 workshop. This film was part of our partnership with the Community Climate Collaborative (C3) and was featured in our inaugural Climate Film Challenge. Students created a short film that shares stories about the trees and nature they remember from their home countries.
