Light House has served the Charlottesville community for over 20 years. It's a place where young people learn to tell their own stories, work together, and build valuable creative and technical skills.

It's a place to try making a movie for the very first time, and a place to create something new for your portfolio before applying to college! Most of all, it's a place to have fun and make friends!

Workshop This Semester

Learn the art of filmmaking at Light House!

Light House Studio teaches hands-on filmmaking workshops for all ages and experience levels. With the guidance of experienced teaching artists, students work in small groups to create their own short films or learn a special topic.

As they learn about screenwriting, cinematography, and video editing, students build skills like collaboration, creativity, planning, and communication.

Workshops are broken into Elementary, Middle School, and High School age levels.

Will You Need Tuition Assistance?

Tuition Assistance is available for all workshops. Submit your application for tuition assistance here, and a member of our team will be in touch ASAP with further instructions. Applications are reviewed case by case, and aid is dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis; submitting the application is not a guarantee of assistance.
